Why: July 31st event is to finance Edmond's proposed trip to Dallas, Texas to compete in the International Hot Sauce Competition.

FULL INFORMATION:

Friday, July 31st, join us for an African soiree at the David Thompson Cultural Centre complete with meal, fashion show, music, and daning. The evening begins at 7:30 pm with a traditional Togolese meal, followed at 8:30pm by a fashion show featuring African fashions. At 10pm, Jazz Afric, a Vancouver based group comprised of Togolese musicians, will perform for your listening and dancing enjoyment.

For an early taste of this event, catch Jazz Afric during Nelson's Streetfest 2003. They will be performing Friday July 18th at the David Thompson Cultural Centre and Saturday, July 19th at the New Royal Grill. Both shows will begin at 9pm and you'll be able to dance 'til dawn. Tickets are $20 per evening.

The July 31st event is a benefit evening to fundraise money to send Edmond Segbeaya, creator of Ebesse Zozo, to Dallas, Texas to compete in the International Hot Sauce Competition.
